Charles Smith to Host First-Annual Jet City Rosé Experience in Seattle on June 3
Award-Winning Winemaker Celebrates Rosé Season With Curated Community of 20 Wineries, Food Trucks and Musicians
Seattle, Wash. (April 6, 2017) – In celebration of one of the fastest-growing, most-popular wines in the United States, award-winning winemaker Charles Smith is hosting the first-annual Jet City Rosé Experience on Saturday, June 3 at Charles Smith Wines Jet City in Seattle. Providing rosé fans with the ultimate summer kick-off, Charles is bringing together over 20 premier wineries primarily from the Pacific Northwest to showcase the region’s best rosé including CasaSmith ViNO Rosé, K Vintners Rosé, and Charles & Charles Rosé – the top selling rosé in the country.
Taking place at Jet City, the largest urban winery on the west coast with a killer view of Mt. Rainier, the Rosé Experience will also feature live performances from Rock n’ Roll Hall of Fame Inductee Wanda Jackson, music legend John Doe and The Dusty 45’s. Five local food trucks will also be at the event – Cheese Wizards, El Camino, The People’s Burger, Snout & Co. and Where Ya At Matt. Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the door. Tickets are available online at: bit.ly/JetCityRose
“Even though you should drink rosé year-round, there’s no denying that it tastes better outdoors in the summer with friends,” said Charles Smith, winemaker, and owner of Jet City. “My hope is that the Rosé Experience embodies everything people love about rosé – its young and approachable spirit, and of course that infinitely pleasant pink hue.”
The debut Jet City Rosé Experience will feature rosé from winemaker Charles Smith and wineries including: Analema, Amavi Cellars, Avennia, Bartholomew Winery, Bieler Pére et Fils, DeLille Cellars, Doubleback, EFESTE, Elk Cove Vineyards, Gramercy Cellars, J Bookwalter Winery, Julia’s Dazzle, Mark Ryan Winery, Milbrandt Vineyards, Pacific Rim, Seven Hills Winery, Syncline Winery, Tranche and W.T. Vintners.
Charles Smith’s rich history with rosé makes him the perfect host for the region’s first event celebrating the varietal. Known for his award-winning affordable rosés grown in Washington State, his Charles & Charles Rosé has been the top selling rosé year over year and he was one of the first producers to release new vintages this year – the 2016 CasaSmith ViNO Rosé and 2016 K Vintners Rosé. Premium dry rosé is one of the fastest growing segments in the American wine market, and together, France and the U.S. consume nearly half of the annual 594.4 million gallons of rosé produced globally. Washington State is now the second largest premium wine producer in the United States, with over 900 wineries producing approximately 16 million cases of wine each year.
