After spending two nights camping I arrived at Lake Crescent Lodge located in Olympic National Park on the Washington peninsula. It was a beautiful afternoon and I spent two hours kayaking the lake in one of the rental kayaks available at the resort. Don’t forget that the National Parks Service is 100 years old this year. Go visit a national park. #NPS100
The lodge has taken steps to be more eco friendly and sustainable. Their goal is to develop and implement long-term environmental programs and policies. They do offer recycling bins for paper, glass, plastic, and aluminum in the rooms. They are also working on adding composting for food and coffee in the rooms. They also have low flow toilets and showers, and motion sensor lights.
The food and wine at Lake Crescent were delicious. We had Fish and Chips, Halibut, chocolate torte cake with raspberries paired with Viognier from local Harbinger Winery.
